CHAPTER ONE...continued
Bryan looked over his shoulder.  “Look, I don’t want to play.  You two can do your plays
without me.  Why don’t you go and play in your room?  Mom’s gonna kill you anyways once
she finds out you painted that crap in the closet.”

“You better not say a word.  You promised.  Just wait ‘til Grandpa sees it.  He’ll love it.”
“He may, but if Mom finds it, you’re toast.  You’re getting too caught up in Grandpa’s fairy
tales again.”

“They’re not fairy tales!”

“Whatever,” Bryan said sarcastically.  “But if Mom finds out, you’re done.”

“She doesn’t have to know and you better not tell her!”

“Then don’t give me a reason to.  Now leave me alone and let me read my book.”  Bryan
turned away from Will and walked in the house.

Will stood dejected.

Sensing his disappointment, Jimmy said, “Hey man, my mom just made some cinnamon rolls
for the holidays. Wanna go grab some?”

“Some cookies too.”  Jimmy forced himself in front of Will  with a puppy dog look on his face.
Will couldn’t help but crack up.  “You are such pig you know that?  Okay, sounds good.
Race you.”

Will took off towards Jimmy’s house as Jimmy galloped behind him.
